about this project

This project was my second show at Clarendon having to do sound and lighting for this one taking the role of Lead Technician again for this show, having to use a new software called QLC+ coming from the Fat Frog from Zero 88 to program the lighting and a new mixer (Yamaha MX12/8) for the audio, with a teacher from another school working alongside us.

Tech Specs:

10x Shure UR4D+ Reciever Units with UR1 Beltpack transmitters + beige headset mics run through a Yamaha MX12/8 out to 2x 500W 15" Speakers. Having used Sennheiser radio mics for the last show, the Shure ones were a new experience having different layouts and settings to the Sennheiser, using the Yamaha to EQ the mics to eliminate some feedback issues. Unfortunately due to damage to the Fat Frog, for this show we had transferred over to a computerised system using QLC+ (Q Light Controller+) with a ENTTEC USB PRO DMX MK2 to translate the USB data to the DMX dimmerpacks. It took some learning but learning to use QLC+ was really simple with their guides to use it for the show, having to learn how to program cues in the program and syncing the lights to music within the software!
